Mexico Public Schools District #59
Updated protocol and technologies ensure better communication and safety.
Problem: School communication systems were antiquated.
Solution: New comprehensive solution positioned district for best outcomes.
The Mexico School district serves more than 2,400 students across 6 campuses. The district reached out to us initially because we had provided audio video equipment and surveillance for several decades, and they now needed to replace one of the schools basic intercom systems.
We had just completed a comprehensive solution for another school district, so we invited Mexico School officials to visit and see the latest technology available. After witnessing how advanced and effective this technology had become, the officials determined it was time to upgrade district-wide. Sound Solutions rolled out a new system that provides:
- Intercoms with clear voice communication
- Digital signage across hallways and classrooms to provide enhanced messaging and multiple paths of communication
- Desktop notifications for teachers
- Emergency “call in” services
- Special lock down buttons in classrooms to notify administrative offices and law enforcement in the event of an active shooter scenario or other emergency.
While these systems cannot prevent tragic occurrences from happening, this system – along with the school’s comprehensive safety plan – helps Mexico Schools provide a safer environment for its students and staff.
